Tivola - Boulder Rush

You could call it a real Crossovermix: "Boulder Rush" a game for animal lovers, dwarf enthusiasts and vegans. And all of that in one single app. Wait, there is even a unicorn! And dynamite!

It is casual game for everyone and it is even free. I did the music and the sounds for it and had some support by my beloved bandmates to do the dwarf voice overs. They did a great job and hearing the dwarf burp after having some lettuce always makes me smile.

Here's the Trailer for the game:

And the links to find it in the app- and play-story. Go and check it out!

Happy Tuesday "Hero Defense: Haunted Island"

If I tell you, that you can get a Genre-Mix of MOBA, RPG and Tower Defense, would that make you curious? Well, then you definitely should check out "Hero Defense: Haunted Island". It is made by Berlin-bades studio Happy Tuesday and has a beautiful dark halloweenish setting. I contributed sounds and music to the game while mostly working for Happy Tuesday on another project for about 1-2 years. I really enjoyed this collaboration and had loads of fun playing the game. The preexisting Music and Sound Design was done by Marc Trinkhaus, who did a great job with his sweet tunes and especially with the sound of the monsters.

Here's the trailer we made for early access. Up to now the game even has a multiplayer where you can punish your opponent.

And THIS is the steam page to get more infos on the game and buy it.

Project Showcase: Nachtschattengewächse

"NACHTSCHATTENGEWÄCHSE" is a beautiful mid-length movie by Max Hegewald about an insecure young man who meets a woman questioning what he is just with being the opposite.

Roman Pogorzelski did the amazing sound design and brought me in as the re-recording mixer and I had a great time working with him also when he assisted me during the mix.

The movie premiered at 37th Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis.

Project Showcase: Spencer

In remembrance of the times we all used to be afraid of monsters under our beds, a team of Games Academy students created a 3D Brawler where you play a tiny teddy bear that has to protect his owner from having nightmares. They brought me in for music and sound pretty early and we worked with FMOD for a simple interactive music system.

The game consists of two levels and also has a local multiplayer option for up to 4 players.

At the DEP - German developer awards 2015 we got #2 at the Ubisoft Bluebyte Newcomer Award - thanks a lot for choosing us!

The team from left to right: Carsten Scheer (Game Design), me (Music & Sound), Rezan Kizilgün (Programming), Markus Bonk (Production), Tobias Paul (3D Art & Animation), Rick Sebastian (Art) and missing: Jasmin Heinemann (Game Design).

I still have to rework the music and will insert a link in here, when done!

Immersive virtual reality system based on people: TurkDeck

Last year Professor Baudisch of the HPI brought me into a research project called "Holodeck" - a VR system that also reproduces what users feel using props operated by a group of people.

More information about the project can be found here: http://hpi.de/en/baudisch/projects/turkdeck.html

It was a great experience to work with them, as the workflow of a group consisting almost solely of engineers differs drastically from the workflow I was used to in game development teams.

Project Showcase: Office Spacer

After working with Professor Patrick Baudisch of the HPI on their haptic turk project, we collaborated again for a VR Jam project called "Office Spacer". It is a space shooter that has to be played by two people - the actual player wears a single Gear VR seeing the virtual world while sitting on an office chair and the other is standing behind them acting as the spaceship. It is played without an headset so both players hear the commands of "Allie" the boards computer.

If you want to download it or just want further information, you can find a great article here: http://www.vrbites.com/games/office-spacer/

It is fun to play and a nice way to get in contact with your colleagues, if you are not good at talking, as the standing player will rotate and shake you according to the gameplay!

Due to the tight time schedule I did not only the sounds but also the voice over for the board computer Allie. This is actually the first game where you might recognize my voice as it isn't transformed into some monster sounds as usual.
